Weekly Learning Review
Class:  4A & 4B        Week Ending: 8/2/2018
·         Spelling: This week’s spelling list is about prefixes with ‘a’ and ‘al’. Here is the quilt link for extra practice:
·         Reading Comprehension: Reread the passage, ‘Goodbye to Earth’ and discussed character’s reasons for behaviour.  Children also responded to the text by answering its appropriate set of questions.
·         Writing: Students worked in groups to plan and write a creative story with different settings.
·         Grammar: Revised adverbs and comparative adjectives. Introduced speech marks and pointed out the use of commas and capital letters while using them.
·         Book Club: ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl – Chapters 11-12.
·         Capacity: Students are able to measure and estimate liquid capacity, using litres and millilitres as the standard unit of measurement. They are able to convert liters to milliliters, and milliliters to liters. 1 litre = 1000 millilitres.
·         Timetables: Students can read and interpret timetables and calculate elapsed time. We went to the ICT lab to research schedules (like their favorite football matches, concerts, etc.,) and created timetables using Microsoft Word.
·         Heating and Cooling Matter: Students know that melting is when a solid turns into a liquid and is the reverse of freezing. Melting happens when heat energy is added to a substance and the energy pulls the particles apart from each other. Cooling happens when water solidifies.
·         Revised Prehistoric Britain and introduced Roman Britain.
Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship Education
·         Habits: A habit is a routine of a behaviour that is repeated regularly. Students understood the difference between good habits and bad habits.
