Weekly Learning Review -Week Ending: 15th February 2018

Weekly Learning Review
Class:  4A&4B                                       Week Ending: 15/2/2018
Book Week: This week was dedicated to fostering a love of reading for all. Students discovered that a book trailer is a video advertisement for a book which employs techniques similar to those of movie trailers. Students chose their favourite book and made a book trailer. They learned that a book trailer describes what the book is about and they used direct quotations from the book in order to tempt readers to go and read the book. Importantly, they learned not to give too much of the plot away so as not to spoil the reading pleasure.

Perimeter: Students learned to calculate the area and perimeter of a random shape on a grid.
Bar Graphs: Students learned to define data, bar graphs, title, label, scale and point on bar graphs. They collected their own data and presented it as a bar graph.
States of Matter: The children revised themes from this term and carried out an assessment.
Roman Britain: Continued learning about Roman Britain’s history, for example how they lived; what they ate; the culture and daily lives.
