Weekly Learning Review
Class:   4A & 4B                                          Week Ending: 14/6/2018
·         Spelling: This week’s spelling list consists of words ending with ‘ible’ and ‘able’.  Here is the Quizlet link:
·         Grammar: A clause is a group of words that can be used either as a whole sentence or part of a sentence. A clause must always contain a verb. This week, we learned that a simple one-clause sentence is always made up of two parts: a subject and a predicate.
·         Comprehension: Revised different comprehension genres.
·         Writing: The writers were given a scene from a story to write paragraphs about. They described the setting and included speeches in their writings. They also showed how the characters felt.
·         Fractions: The students recognized the families of common equivalent fractions. They solved problems involving increasingly harder fractions to calculate quantities.
·         Fractions and Decimals: The mathematicians learned how to solve problems that included decimal equivalents of any number of tenths or hundredths.
·         Revision: This week, we revised all the topics that we covered this term. The topics covered were rounding, multiplication, long division, subtraction, cardinal directions, angles, weights, co-ordinates, calendars, Carroll and Venn Diagrams, fractions and converting decimals into fractions (and vice versa).
·         Magnetism: This week, we went to the science lab to examine different magnetic and non-magnetic materials. Metals such as iron and steel are magnetic. Aluminium, copper and gold are non-magnetic materials.
·         Revision: The scientists revised topic 5, ‘Electricity and Magnetism’.
